Pull Sled

A classic children’s pull sled has been thoughtfully redesigned into an artistic and carefully crafted family heirloom that remains fully functional, making it perfect for encouraging young ones to enjoy the winter months outdoors. It is constructed using high-quality black ash or white oak, each type of wood locally sourced from northern and central Minnesota, respectively. The sled is built employing traditional joinery methods combined with expert steam-bending techniques, preserving the integrity and strength of the materials. The frame is securely fastened with hand-set copper rivets and solid bronze screws, ensuring the sled is not only highly durable and functional but also visually appealing with a refined finish. Completed with multiple coats of pure tung oil, the surface offers exceptional and lasting durability while beautifully enhancing the natural grain and character of the wood.

White Oak vs Black Ash:
White oak is the harder choice of the two woods, making it extremely durable and long-lasting. The White oak sleds will have a darker coloration with a more subtle grain pattern, though occasional quarter-sawn character is present. While slightly softer, black ash is still an incredibly durable sled and has a lighter coloration with a striking grain pattern. With no distinct differences, the choice between the two is purely aesthetic.

Approximate Dimensions: 38” x 16” x 16”
